Topic: GUI freeze on 64-bit version on one of my laptops

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

A few weeks ago (maybe a bit more) the GUI started freezing in my VDJ2021 (so in the last few builds) whenever I click a drop-down
It doesn't do it when using the 32-bit version
I guess it's a windows issue - but I haven't been able to figure it out...
Any Ideas?

Also other right-click menus?
Opening other dialogs is not affected?

Yes, sorry
They are actually all affected in VDJ2021

Reported... with some Intel CPUs models with intel Graphic (any generation starting with 4th up to 10th)
what is strange is : change CPU model with another Compatible one (same everything, MB, windows, ...) and everything is working. Put the CPU on a working config VDJ stops to work
I have one i5 gen 4 like this.
Only drop downs are affected (and password input page is blurry) in recent skins (many old ones are not affected)
workaround when possible : totally disable Intel Graphic
Nothing old or recent drivers fixed this (only default M$ seems to work, but slowly and features missing - specialy multiscreen)
really strange

@klaus: You also checked if useLowPowerGPU setting makes a difference then?

It doesn't matter which setting I have in useLowPowerGPU
It also doesn't matter if I have mathEngine disabled

I'll try updating the 32 bit version to current public build, and see if that then also gets the issue
EDIT: No, even with the 32-bit version updated to b6334 (running on the same laptop as the 64-bit version, sharing settings and database) I don't see the issue

Just found that it's the same with broadcasting
If I use my 32-bit VDJ I can videobroadcast to twitch and mixcloud
If I do the same with the 64 bit version it never connects
But if I then go back to a pre-2021 build, but still a 64-bit one, it works. No more GUI freeze and broadcasting works fine

So it seems to be a bigger problem than just GUI freeze

mathEngine makes any difference then?

Otherwise possible to narrow down the build it broke?

No it makes no difference if mathEngine is enabled
The last 64-bit v2020 b5874 works. No GUI freezes and I can video broadcast
The first 64-bit v2021 b5918 has the issues. Small GUI freezes on drop-downs, and and video broadcast can't connect (it just says "connecting" forever)
This is the laptop I test it on

New info!

Video broadcasting does work in VDJ2021 - it just takes a long time to connect

The 32-bit version: Connect/start time about 4 sec
The last 64-bit v2020 b5874: Connect/start time about 4 sec
The current 64-bit v2021: Connect/start time about 124 sec

Tested on MixCloud, but Twitch seems to be about the same
Is there some kind of 2 min retry that could explain it?

Could you try useDXVA off?

On or off gives me the same result

Did you enable the video output already before trying to connect?

I don't see any difference between starting the broadcast with the video window open or closed, or with a track playing or not playing

Strange issue last night with last updated version.
Video window, brings up over interface window, flicks a lot and can’t close it.
Never happened this before.
Finally, interface freezes, sound continue working, and controller continue responding.
Now I go back to more stable version.
Cpu with i7 7700hq and 16gb of ram (no dedicated GPU, no Stem active).
