Topic: is the streaming service broken tonight? it was working - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

hi I was streaming last night and tonight for an hour then it shut down
is it experiencing issues?

Its saying im broadcasting and it suddenly quit audio my cell phone cant hear nothing says is streaming.. but the computer I have virtual DJ on when I hit the play button the streaming I can hear it so I hear the echoing.. so its like only sending out to only my comp but nothing else..
is there an issue tonight just curous

was curious if anyone else had same issues.. and if there is a work around but probably not since too many people home and taxing the system.. figured id ask as I was curious
even Facebook streaming shut down on me it would work then it would loose connection...
but last night was good..
go figure lol and around 9 to 11pm tonight was good then it went down after that

if I need to explain better..
I had chose the Broadcast option for virtual DJ to the virtual DJ site
I have port 8000 open
on the main computer it says DJ is Live and broadcasting
I can hit play and it echos so it plays back from the virtual dj site to my computer

but if I load the website on my cell.. it says its broadcasting but no audio
I have my friends test it.. and it was also no audio but it was working earlier

I don't understand why the main computer with VDJ on it can get the audio to play from the page

if you guys need more info let me know... but im guess its just system overload

You could try broadcastdirectformat mp3 instead of ogg, perhaps the phone can't play ogg?

I also found

lot of people are using Google Chrome.. and Chrome isn't streaming it.. also my phone uses chrome.. on my DJ Computer it plays on IE but it will not playing on Chrome..
I been asking people what browsers they using.. they were all using chrome

but chrome was working last night for people so I not sure what happened but ill try that site

and my phone was playing the music around 9pm to 10pm and it was playing last night in chrome too

it was how I tested ..

how do I tell vdj to broadcast mp3 over ogg
I just goto the broadcast.. choose audio and hit broadcast

and I spoke to soon some people were testing with IE was working then went dead lol

nvm I found the broadcast

it was already set to mp3

Go to options, type broadcast, then change broadcastDirectFormat to mp3

so it wont play for none of my friends for IE or Chrome now but says im broadcasting
they also tried on cells Tablet and a laptop

I cant hear It on my cell phone... I cant hear it on my DJ computer with Chrome but its still able to hear on Internet Explorer

it was defaulted to mp3 already

ive tried rebooting my router, modem, my dj computer,, I double checked my port was open to 8000
but still no one can hear.. just on my computer only IE chrome still silent..

I even shut the modem and router off 2 min figured buffering or something.. and I rebooted the computer twice nothing helping

I had 6 people testing...
3 of them heard it on IE then it quit
none of them heard in on Chrome.. but last night it worked on chrome

only computer that's actuallying playing the audio is my DJ computer and 2 Laptops but In IE

so I tested 2 other laptops in my house
Chrome wont play.. but IE will play the audio but still no one outside of the house can hear it anymore

I don't know what else to test.. ):

so much for the corona cabin fever dance party I was doing for my friends lol that couldn't goto the bar etc tried to do it online
next time I guess lol but ya still down... I run out of ideas to try...

maybe im the only one with this issue.. I thought maybe too many people streaming and crashed the streaming server on virtual dj site that relays the music I dunno I just guessing at the moment

Is port 8000 open on your router as well?

yup that's what I ment Port is Open sorry I should explained better
I use
https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and port 8000 is open
virtual dj site says SUCESS... DJ is Live Broadcasting
and then it does what it does above was working fine Thursday then was working last night till about 11pm then it just went down

so I not sure what else to test.. is there other tests?

so the open port I ment to say if I go directly computer to modem.
but through my router port stays closed.. but using grc.com its in stealth mode

and in either situation I guess a success connection with virtual dj site
but it cant stream the audio right to others just my own network

so not sure what to look for.. if I disable port forward on the router or the unpnp It cant establish.
once I re enable it can connect...
so not sure what else to check
