Topic: Facebook stream cutting out

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello!
I have two questions regarding facebook stream.
I have connected Virtual DJ and the stream went ok, than after 40 minutes it broke down, lost connection and live video ended. I tried again, and second time it lasted 20 minutes and broke down. Third and last time it took about 30 minutes to break.
Now, I am wondering if its some copyright thing with facebook or its something I am doing wrong. I played music that I dont own the rights for, so maybe there is copyright issue like being flagged and than broadcast fails. Also I was using medium quality stream and it was buggy just few times during playback, so maybe if I lower it to low quality, would be ok.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
p.s. sorry if I sound confusing :)

My friends having the same issue.. Facebook live and YouTube apparently get flagged for copyright issues.. Is there another way of broadcasting visual videos and music? He's broadcasting music only but would be nice for people to be able to physically see something and do requests shout outs etc.. Facebook doesn't even allow you to mute audio when you're live.. Grrr

That is a different topic. The original poster sounded like he had internet connection issues. But perhaps he meant copyright.

For copyright, Facebook is a little behind when it comes to implementing the music rights they have obtained.

For now, try mix other genres (not top 40, pop), and try use DJ remixes, and mix the songs (dont play out from start to end). That works far better on Facebook. That seems to work pretty good, we done a few 2 hour sets here inhouse :)

And if you are out of luck, use Twitch instead that works without cutting out music at all. Or Twitter (Periscope)...
(sometimes they might mute part of the recorded stream, but never the live stream)
