im now stuck with a spining VDJ logo and the song title at the bottom of my screen and it ruined karaoke night, how do i get rid of it please. and yes i did set the logo to off in settings

It's a video skin, not a logo. It's one of the new features of VDJ 2018 (VDJ 8.3).
BTW the last thing you should be doing is updating to a brand new (early access) version of VDJ before going out to a gig, when you clearly are unaware of new features and how to use the software.

Read the post at the head of the General Discussion forum, or enable early access updates in VDJ.
