Hello fam,
Does anyone have an idea of how long it usually takes for VDJ to include new controllers in the updates? I am looking at the Pioneer DDJ-SR2 and it is not compatible as of yet. It comes with Serato but I'd prefer to stay with VDJ as my choice of program.

For "a new controller" I would say usually a few weeks
The issue is that this is not just a controller - It's a Pioneer controller
Pioneer normally tries to block people from using any other software than the one that comes with the controller
So a new controller basically has to be reversed engineered to make it fully work with VDJ, which is time consuming work
For the xdj-rx it took about a year
So getting new Pioneer controllers to work is a bit like fighting IS in Syria
You have a feeling that the bad guys at Pioneer will loose in the end, and that the controller will be supported in VDJ - but it takes time

Do you already have (or ordered) the unit?
You might want to check the Reloop Touch Control... Specifically made for VDJ.

Thanks for the information on how long it could take for the update. There are a few features on the SR2 that I want specifically but I might need to go with the SR. I haven't bought it yet but it sure looks good in Guitar Center LOL.

Today I went to my favorite toy store (Guitar Center) to play around with the controllers. The DDJ-SR was on display but not working. I asked a salesperson to fix it but he couldn't so I asked questions about the controller. Above our head was the DDJ-SR2 so he got on the ladder to get it down. He said they were out of the DDJ-SR but the SR2 is the upgrade at the same cost. Now you know I've been looking at this every day online and the SRP is $699. Once he quoted me at $599 I asked him if he was sure. He said yes and off to the register we went. It rung up at $699 and he had a deer in the headlight look on his face. He called the manager and they adjusted the price to $599. I couldn't have gotten a better deal even on Black Friday! I will have to use Serato until it is compatible but it's worth the wait.

Stay away from these i had the rmx 1 worked fine till i upgraded my account 6 years ago all ive had is problems when i try to do a remix. and know i bought the pioneer 350 and they worked biut instead i tried them on virtual dj and the same. synchs, beat lock BPM disingages when cpomes to end of track just as your starting the remix. So i sent them message this time tell them the company is bollocks since they took the two scammers on that where ruthless to take the company out. Now their ruthless at VDJ leave bad practise everywhere insted of putting it right. Ok so they took all my spare time for years. and ive just spent another 6 hours trying to sort out the problems which i did. and actually got it to work. So i wrote a scathing letter about there practice. It took about 2 hours to put it together and draft. and i just gone on the 350 with the software and nothing works at all now maybe coisidence. But those two porn loving stay up all night fat get offf on victimising companies or people. Now its my turn to tell your new customers not buy and take your company out. Ni hacking needed just word of mouth .

I have no ide what you are talking about?
Are you mad at Pioneer?
Are you mad at Hercules (The RMX1 sounds like an old Hercules controller)?
Are you mad at Native Instruments (you mention NI)
Are you mad at Atomix?
Do you own a Pioneer DDJ-SR2 (like this post is about)?
What happened 6 years ago?
Where do the CDJs come in?
Your rant is very confusing

FYI, Official Support for Pioneer DDJ-SR2 will be provided in next Early Access Build

Great News to see support for DDJ-SR2 in the early access build. That means i am now going to purchase the full version and upgrade from the LE license that came with my old numark mixtrack 3. Before i make the purchase i am just curious to know if the early access build means that i will be able to use my DDJ-SR 2 fully with virtual dj without any problems?

Early Access Builds are Builds tested from our Beta Team, found no issues or bugs but just to make sure, we offer this to a larger group of users for further testing.
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20can%20i%20get%20an%20Early%20Access%20or%20a%20Beta%20build.html
Once this Build comes (with DDJ-SR2 support - will be mentioned in the changelog) , you will have 30 days of Pro Trial period to test as much as you can , before proceeding to a license purchase.

Great to hear this and thanx for your help djdad. From what you said, does this mean that the controller will be functional in short bursts of 10 minutes each whilst on vdj or it will be available full time for 30 days?
Posted Mon 30 Oct 17 @ 4:57 pm
Fully functional for 30 days, then 10 minutes at a time without a license.

very flexible then....thanx...But i seem to be having problems currently.
1. I have downloaded the latest version of virtual dj home
2. I have enabled early access updates
3. connected my SR 2 controller
The software doesn't seem to provide a pop-up to ask if i want to upgrade my current version to beta version or even detect the SR-2 soundcard.
any help will be appreciated. Thanx

have you installed the SR2 drivers from pioneer? that would get the audio part sorted.

Do you mean how do you get it to work on your setup?
You simply upgrade VDJ8 to at least b3967, then it's included
That's an early access release right now, but you can get it here:

Manual is available here http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/ddjsr2/index.html

Great job on this manual, thanks. It just makes me like this controller more. In the Pads section, numbers 46, and 47 are reversed. I just signed up for DJCON in NY on Oct. 18th. I've never been before, but they say there will be sales available. I will pick up this unit then, and the Numark DJ2GO2.
