One feature that would compliment Virtual DJ and open up the scope of mixing, especially the Automix facility is Timeline Editing. VDJ has all the accompanying functions to accommodate it. Mixmeister and the now defunct Onedj offer/ed timeline editing; Mixmeister is OK but cannot see it being used for gigging. Onedj had the idea but the delivery was terrible. Maybe it's time for VDJ to look into implementing it.

VDJ 8 did have a timeline - before it was released. Check out all the demo videos from c2012 which talk about it & show it in use. Go to 9:09 in this YouTube video.

Unfortunately the users never got to try it because Atomix decided that DJs wouldn't use it, so removed it entirely.

Some of us asked for it to be reintroduced - even as a paid addon - but it seems as if their (bad) decision is final.

I was a beta tester of onedj.
The timeline feature looked great in all the promotion videos, but working with it was a PITA. The workflow was horrible.

It looks good, but working DJs have other demands. And because of this same reason Atomix dumped the timeline in VDJ8 (I guess).
