Topic: Cmd-A in the Search field

On all of my Macs, when I put my cursor in the search field and press Cmd-A, it selects all of the text in the field (expected behavior) but then it puts the letter A in the field (unexpected behavior). I now have to press the 'delete' key to delete the A.

Could you please make it so that pressing Cmd-A in the search field only selects all of the text, and does not place an A in the field?
