Topic: External Effects Unit?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

I have a Pioneer Ergo but want more effects than the hardware or software is providing at the min. I was thinking of changing from the Ergo to something better but don't have a lot of funds at the min.

I have been looking at some external units like the Korg Kaoss Mini

I was wondering if anyone one has used these before, would they be compatible with the Ergo and Virtual DJ?

Or have any suggestions on what to upgrade to after the Ergo, something with a lot more effects so I can manipulate the tracks I am playing better.

Thanks,

Try VSTs lots are free and can really expand vdj.

Thanks for your reply, any ones I should look out for?

Would rather try a few VSTs first if it saves me buying the expensive hardware. Although I dont mind that if its needed.

You know that there are a considerable number of addon effects which can be downloaded from the Atomix website?

See http://www.virtualdj.com/plugins/index.html?category=effects

You will need a suitable VDJ8 licence.
I wonder what discount ownership of an Ergo would gain when purchasing VDJ Pro?
Just the Ergo controller licence might be quite cheap.

Thanks I will take a look at that link.

I got my Egro with a LE version, but tried a 8 trial and it over wrote my library's or something when I come to remove it and use LE again it was saying please re-install. Cant find the original CD is come with so I am not stuck with an older crappy version!

Do you think if I contact Pioneer and give them the serials from my unit they will be able to provide me with the original CD or serial for LE? Can you still download LE do you know?

Er no, and no. You must have your LE serial number to register with VDJ, if you have already then losing the CD may not matter.
If I remember right the serial number will be in your vdj account.
