Recently bought a set of 115s for highs and mids and the 118s for the low notes. What is out there that I can use to power these?
I plan on running the 115s and 118s on separate amps as I'm running a crossover.
Any help and advice is much appreciated!
Cheers

Well you know the RMS power rating for the speakers, yes?
It's best to use amps that have more RMS power than the speakers, so that the amps don't have to run flat out to power the speakers.
So, look for amps that are more than capable of the same RMS power.
The drivers are more likely to be damaged by distortion (caused by a maxed out amp) than with a high amount of nice clean power.

There are powered speakers and woofer,is there such thing as powered tweeters? If so how would this connect to powered speakers?

You're hijacking his thread!
Powered full range speakers have tweeters in. Good ones have separate amps for the woofer and tweeter.

In my opinion custom built speakers always sound better
i have a pair I built that sound better than most store bought set-ups

Most of us do not have the education, experience, time, nor artistry to build a professional speaker system, that's why he bought his speakers. He is now looking for suitable amplifiers to power them

Please read this again, as it will help you make a decision. Go to a reputable store, and try a reputable brand.

Agree with Groovin on this although JBL do not quote RMS power handling they do give you a number for Continuous Power (250 for the JRX 115 and 300 for the 118 if I remember correctly) As suggested a power amp with a higher RMS power would generally be recommended as long as you take the time to do the numbers you should have no problem. Bear in mind that the 115s are 8ohm and the 118s are 4ohm. Power amplifiers are specified as having a certain output into a certain load, 500W into 4Ohms, for example. The same amp will only usually provide half that into an 8ohm load so 250W.
Charlie points out the Crown XTI series amps have built in crossover/DSP units and can be loaded with the correct Xover points and curves by plugging into a Laptop and running a fairly simple piece of free software called Band Manager. Series One XTI amps are found a plenty on Ebay at very reasonable prices and perform very well.
A single XTI2000 per side with each amp running one top and one Sub would run your system nicely and would have the capacity to drive an additional pair of Subs and Tops if you need to expand.
