I would like to be able to set a BPM for each track in a play list and when the play list is saved the BPM's for each track are remembered when that play list is reloaded - is that possible???? ( Please )

I'm sorry but i don't understand.
You want to change the BPM value of a already scanned track?
Or do you just want to see the BPM value inside the sideview (Automix) or VDJ browser area?

What I understood is, he wants a playlist with tracks (say the tracks are 92, 94, 88 BPM ...) to play all with constant 90 BPM.
So a global autoplay BPM function is needed.

I don't understand why Automix matches tempo the way it does, it's not how a human would do it, I think you're right a beatmatch/Constant tempo mode would answer this.
