in version 7 i used the shortcut 'i' to do 'browsed_file_info' (= open tag editor)
i could open the 'tag editor' in this way from the databaselist (or sidelist) in V7, but this does not seem to work in V8 altough the function still exits

It works OK here, both as a keyboard shortcut on the 'i' key and as a custom button (on the skin).
I can pop up the tag editor from a track highlighted in the main browser, the automix list and the sidelist.
How are you entering the script?

I found the reason why this did not work.
The setting 'BrowserSearchByFirstLetter' caused this, it was yes. After changing to No it works as expected.
