Topic: database .xml read and write in wrong folder

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Under W8.1 I have noticed, that VJ do not read and write the database.xml with mp3 library from "my documents" VDJ home folder.

All other settings are read/write there but not the database.xml for mp3 library. I have an drive letter "E" where VDJ create a folder "VirtualDJ" and in that folder is the "used" database.xml (Drive E also include my mp3 files).

I doublecheck the with sysinternals process monitor and I can see that the file is also used from the "my documents" VDJ home folder. But this file only contain the sampler files and not the mp3 files.

Or is that behaviour right?

That is normal, and correct

If you have tracks on C:\ then the database is in my documents, if you have tracks on other drives a database is made (v6-v7 database) on the root of that drive or
(V8 database) in a folder called VirtualDJ on the root of the drive.
