setting 'showHorizontalSideList' does not work as an action

Will not work:
<item text="yes" action="setting 'showHorizontalSideList' 'yes'" check="setting 'showHorizontalSideList' 'yes'" />
<item text="no" action="setting 'showHorizontalSideList' 'no'" check="setting 'showHorizontalSideList' 'no'" />

reload / restart ....no way to get the changes into settings.xml
show a marker with check="setting 'showHorizontalSideList' 'yes'" dows not work too

You need to reload the skin before the changes take effect, append your script with.

& load_skin

Now I understand, it's in relation to skinning, try this

setting 'showHorizontalSideList' off & load_skin
setting 'showHorizontalSideList' on & load_skin

ahhhh.... in the settings.xml and in the options sections are written yes/no next to 'showHorizzontalSideList'.

When you use on/off for skinning, it seems to work fine. Somebody from Atomix staff should take some time and write down a complete SDK....This would be a great time saver.
