I just updated to the latest update and it is constantly freezing. Mainly on videos, cpu meter is low, nothing else running. It worked fine up until a couple of days ago when the latest update was installed. The only way to get out of it is ctl alt del, suggestions?

go over your settings for vdj and make sure nothing has changed.
make sure no other software has been added or updated on pc if so could be the issue.
if all that fails try optimizing your pc.

On my laptop, I had this from time to time. What I found is, the laptop has to be started after it is plugged in. Otherwise the it starts in some powers saving video mode that can't be turned off unless you restart it after plugging it in.
Some PCs have a Bios setting to force High Performance instead of power saving on battery. I have also seen "Powermiser" mode mentioned. But I did not have either of those. Odd I know, but give it a try.
