Topic: VDJ fails to start if 2nd monitor is occupied by another full screen app

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

If another application has taken over the 2nd monitor, when you try to run VDJ, it does nothing. No message, nothing. It does not matter if videoForceFullscreen is set to 0 or 1. I may have some answers for reasons that you can fail to acquire a device in this case, but there are ways to overcome it and still get the device. At very least, a message should pop up.

May not be to big a deal but it could be that you have 2 external monitors and one is occupied by another full screen application. Unfortunately I cannot test the case with 2 external monitors because I now only have one. The others went bad on me and can't buy another one just now. But if someone that has more than one external monitor and has an appropriate separate full screen application can test this, it would be good. Any game app might do as the second application as long as it uses hardware full screen.

If I start VDJ first and then run the other full screen app, all is well.
