This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi folks. I played with VDJ 8 last evening for about 5 hour, and loving the program but noticed a slight change in the volume now and then. would go a bit softer then go back to normal. Is this a setting issue that I'm not aware of??
Thanks

Are you aware of the limiter?

Your gains must be to high and the limiter kicking in.

Thanks. how do I change the limiter?

You can't. At least you can't turn it off.

All you can do is lower the signal level that feeds it. There's a config option called ZeroDB which can be changed from the default to 0.75 or 0.5 (however low you want to go).

Another possibility is to add a much more transparent sounding limiter to the master FX, which will control the level without pumping as much.

Search for zerodb in settings I set mine to 0.8
Which is equal to 80% of full on
You could start there and if its still happening lower maybe 0.75 or more also I would set autogain to auto so it adjust accordingly.

The most likely cause is that your gain knob is too far to the right though, so probably it will be fine if you ensure they are in the center.
