Topic: Tags, specifically Genre not updating in VD8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

For years I’ve been tweaking tags with Tag&Rename and simply updating the tags in the VDJ 7 database using the batch command. Worked perfectly! I did some tag tweaking recently and tried to do the same in 8.x. I used the batch command to update tags, tried it on a single file, set it to update using files names, update using tag info and I cannot get the Genre to update. What changed between 7.X and 8.X? Is this a bug or is there a setting that’s not defined well enough for stupid people like me.

Windows 7, current VDJ 8.x build.

U might make sure all tag options are on in settings.

Just search tag they will come up

i understand this Mike but not everyone is having the problem and it could just be his settings :-)

Thanks for the advice. Searching the "old" tags is not a problem. I just can't update the VDJ database with the new tags. At first I wasn't sure it had something to do with the tag version but it seems to not be a problem. I just think 8.X is just not ready for live gigs when 7 works so well.
