On Windows?

When you get the message, check to see if you have multiple VDJ executables running. If you do, end them all then run VDJ again.

Here's an idea...

I dunno if this will have any effect, but try renaming your settings.xml and having another go. You can rename it back afterwards.

Same problem here. Never had this happen before so I'll try the rename of the settings and report back.

You may download manually 1878 from the download page.

This is NOT a fix nor the answer to the question. I've had this problem from the first build and yet to get an answer that fixes it. Continually having to uninstall VDJ 8 and then reinstall the latest build should happen on it's own, not with our having to keep coming back and downloading it over and over.

try this:
- close VDJ 8.
- open "C:\Users\YOUR-WINDOWS-USER-NAME\AppData\Local\Temp".
- delete the file "VirtualDJ New Version.exe".
- open VDJ 8.
- now it should update properly.

I think this .exe file is just the downloader for the new version.
Don't know if it's helpful to delete this program.

If it still fails, go to you documents/virtualdj/cache folder and delete the file <buildNr>.downloading or <buildNr>.complete.
(I'm not 100% sure if that are the correct names for the update, but you will now what I mean by having a look into that folder)

Now, VDJ should download the update again.

i also had to install 1872 with the public build from here, it then updated itself to the newest betabuild like it used to. did not have any updating problems before or after that.
