I think, in my case there is not a CPU usage issues, instead, is a GPU usage issues, because if you open a virtualdj in OSX, machine will be hot in 10 minutes with no playing nothing. Otherwise if you make a batch converting videos FAN will speed up and will detect overheat of CPU, not in case of GPU, the machine is hot but fan not running in high speed. That happen with VDJ.
It is weird if I don't play nothing and the machine is turning hot.

Have you tried lowering the skins FPS rate?

I honestly think V8 uses too much GFX processing (understandable for video use, but VideoDJ's have to have a high spec, but a considerable number of users don't need a HD interface) I have 2 machines that ran V7 with no issue, both have issues with V8 because of GFX use (one minor one terminal,)
I'd love to see V8 to have a option to use the low impact of V7s GUI system.

This is an ongoing issue. There's some workarounds, however none are perfect. Reduce your skin FPS to 16. (It's at 30 by default.)

That will help some...

Sure ! v8 is amazing. Video quality is incredible. But i think if I am playing nothing why is using resources ?

It's redrawing the skin 30 times a second.

This is the settings I've changed.
My system has gone from 95-100C with the default settings to 68-70C with these settings, thats a considerable change.

Browser textfit = fixed
video MicroFrames = never
skinFPS = 20

I use this program on my Bootcamped Mac (PC & Mac version)
Crystalidea Macs Fan Control 1.1.11 (MacBookPro6,2)

I have set the sensor based values;
Left fan based on Core 0 = 60 - 70C
Right Fan based on Core 1 = 60 - 70C

Works great. :-)

Moving the SkinFPS from 20 > 16 doesn't appear to change much in the visual. If you drop it to 15, you will see a massive difference.

That's interesting, I've tried 15 before but not 16. I did notice the difference from 20 to 15, but, my system seems happy with 20. I'll give 16 a go see what difference it makes.
Cheers

You are right! I set to 16Fps both, skin and video and not very smoothy but it's ok, reaching 20fps without forcing. GPU usage was lower and CPU low 3%. recommended option.

I also recommend 21 Fps in both config. will use 30...
