In the months I've been using 8 it has always sent the video out to the TV's. Last night when I loaded the first song my screen went blank. What I didn't realize at that time, because it had never happened, the video screen opened on the laptop, not out on the TV's. Solution: double click the blank screen, it minimizes, then just slide it out to the TV's. And that's great cause now I can use 8 tonight!! I'm learning......

Or you could map a custom button with the action "video_output". This should open a menu to choose the video output.

You could also change the videoWindowAlwaysOnTop option to no - it won't then open over your VDJ screen.
