I had a look at what the iRemote is about in options (I don't own any apple products) and now on every start up V8 is telling me I need the Apple's bonjour service, I don't, I don't/WON'T have any apple software on my machine. I can OK or cancel it doesn't matter, every start up it pesters

You have enabled the iRemote engine in the software.
Click the button again to disable.
