Topic: Cue points different in 8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Some of my cue points have moved when I use V8. They are a tiny bit later than on V7. Also some songs don't even have the beginning beat when I use 8.

Has anyone else had these issues?

Known issue, there is a script to correct this

shift_all_cues +(or - )Xms
You can use beats but I struggled to find the exact number try
shift_all_cues -0.02

And where/how do you run the script? Is there a command box somewhere?

It's not a script, it's an action. You can assign it to one of the custom buttons.

I forgot to mention with will only affect one tune at at time.

I have this problem too, but not on every track. And I don't want to "fix" them then the will be wrong in 7. I can't globally fix them either cause not all of them are wrong.

Any changes you make to cue points in 8 won't affect 7 and 7 has no access to the version 8 database.

Good to know,I mean I'm glad for that...

Thank you for the tip, but it didnt help. VDJ8 actually removes the beginning.

I used Cameo - Candy and BBD - Poison to show the difference.
The First is VDJ7 and you can hear the beat, the second is 8 and you can hear the beat cut off a little bit.
When blending the song, its not noticeable, but when starting it from the top, especially with those two songs, you need that beginning beat! lol

I will try adding a second of silence to the beginning of the songs and see what happens........................

And that fixed it! I added .5 secs to the beginning of each file and the beat came back.

would it be possible to be able to set ques as v7 or v8 ??
giving v7 automixes the chance to work as they were and new ones in v8 or is this not possible to the new database file ?

Ok, I actually just watched this happen. I loaded a track and as it loaded I saw that the cue was in the right place. Then when it reached the end of the bar the cue point moved! It was as if the track was "re-analyzed" and that's where VDJ determined it should be. Some times it leaves it, sometimes it doesn't. And I also have songs with multiple cue points and it will move the first one but the others are fine.

Have any of the new beta builds corrected this?
