I'm using Windows 8.1, 16 gigs ram, 2gig dedicated video, top notch pc across the board...
I was playing with the distortion effect on an mp3... I had the video "effects" going too... Can't remember which one was playing. It was one of the sonique type effects. I was turning the distortion and crunch way up and down to see what it did, playting maybe 30 seconds full force with it and VDJ froze.

There was one of the Sonique effects that made 7.4 crash for me as well. I stopped using those plugins because of it.

So it is a sonique plug in that causes it...? I'm fine without using them... I just don't want to have a bumpin dance floor and the sound stops followed by a "booooooo"...

Some plug ins work for some, but not for others. They are still being worked on. Try for yourself to see if they work for you, before the gig.

Make sure that you are only using the certified plugins: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4207/72_Sonique_Visual_plugins_certified.html
Also, make sure that WinAmp is not open on your system. Some Sonique plugins will purposely close the host application (VDJ in this case) if it detects WinAmp is running (The author didn't want their plugin used with WinAmp.)
