Hi,
Minor bug on the pc version..
Checked the forum yesterday & saw there was a new release..
So I opened up my VDJ & it didn't update.
Closed it right away & reopened it & then I got the message of an update

That's exactly how it works. When you launch VDJ if there is an update it will silently download in the background.

Then the next time you launch it loads.

It is designed this was so you don't accidentally update mid gig.

For now this is OK for me but in future (once we are stable) I would like to disable Update or at least have the question upgrade now or later.
I don't want to start VDJ on a friday for making my preparation for Saturday, meanwhile there's a silent download and at Saturday i'll start with new version and notice having problems.
This way I can't accept.
My 2 cents on automatic updates.

If you wish you can turn off check for updates but I wouldn't advice that.

If you don't want to install now and do it later the just press no to the Install.

Thanks for clearing that out.
For now I'll take all updates. Still using 7.4 for my gigs for now, but testing 8 as well.

With the latest update (1774) this process has changed slightly.

  • Launch VDJ
  • VDJ will check for updates and download silently as before
  • If VDJ is not playing anything then you will have the option immediately to update
  • If it is playing the you will get the option at next launch.

That's how it should be :)
