I saw in the last update that we have backspin effect. How do i get it?

Open VDJ 8!
Updates are downloaded in the background, then when you restart VDJ 8 it'll notify you and ask if you'd like to update.

yea did that already but nothing. I removed the effect from the folder because of the error notices i was getting. now after the update i put it back to see if i will have it but i still don't see the option under effects. neither is there a new one in the new vdj8 folder with all the native effects

Just so you know my updates were not so "in the background" I got a dialog box that told me updates were availlable and when they were done the screen flashed and I was back to default settings. Font size, folders, browser columns were all back to default.

I think something was said about certain effects not being compatible with VDJ 8, and so they're disabled from loading.

Well in the new update they said the action is added i assume they are talking about the effect
