What kind of Mac do you use?

Also do you use audio or video?

Macbook pro 17" Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 .Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 . Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB . Software OS X 10.9.2.
i use audio & video . when i use audio the temp goes up to about 190f to 200f . if i use video the temp will shoot up to 210f to 220f . i tried to use a fan control to turn the fans up but that don't help . (edit) Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB DJ Donny Greer

I run it at 3500rpm when gigging, never leave home without it.

Hi , my macbook pro (a1502) also overheated (while running SMC Fan Control )
I removed the fan control software and now it seems okay

It seems to be related with the hardware acceleration and it is not easy to solve it fast.

We aware about this issue and hope to solve it with 8.1

It also seems to take more effect the older a Mac is.
At the moment we only can advise to use a tool to set the fans for high speed at anytime.

In the advanced options of V8 is maxSkinFPS set at 30 or a higher value ?

not really helpful to the main issue i know, but to avoid any damages by (over)heat, a external cooling pad might do a good job until the prob is solved....

You can try to use a different one, but on my side nothing has changed the result ;-)

BUT we all know Mac's esp. while using video are getting very hot.
So beside this all you should take care about this Mac specific behavior.

It was also present on V7, maybe not so fast after the start, but it was :-)
