Topic: VDJ 7 Error With VDJ 8

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Okay, just downloaded & installed VDJ 8 on my data drive (D:) for testing ...... VDJ 7 is installed on my OS drive (SSD C;).

Both programs have their own folder and directory structure for plugins, skins etc .....

VDJ 8 is working ok, Installed Scott's Milkdrop plugin (which is amazing) and works ok in 8

Went to run VDJ 7, which has been flawless, to test the milkdrop plugin (this is my main PC NOT my gig PC) and get this error .......

Any Ideas ......... both sets of folders are still there !

Don't really want to do a fresh install of VDJ7 if there is a simple solution.

TIA

Have you manually deleted the Skin files for V7?

If so you will need to put the default 2 deck skin for V7 back as a minimum for it to load.

Just checked both folders VDJ 7 - 2 Deck Skin Zip, 4 Deck Skin Zip, 6 Deck Skin Zip and in the VDJ 8 skins folder, the default VDJ 8 skins zip.

Both folders?

Yes ...... As per my 1st post ...... VDJ 7 On C: VDJ 8 On D: Install of 8 created a separate folder structure on the D drive for 8

I would suggest a "repair" install of VDJ 7 then.

I was afraid you'd say that ....... Damn you V8 :-)

Many thanks Dan

Sorted :-) Now running Milkdrop, Sonique in VDJ 7, will try 8 next !

Oh Dear ....... VDJ 7 up and running ok, now to try 8 ........

So much for them co-existing on the same PC ............. :-(

Here's a close up of the error !

And yes ...... the default VDJ8 Skin zipfile is there.

You must have done something to the Skin folder in the VDJ folder of My Documents.

the only time i have seen this is when they haven been deleted or moved.

Haven't changed\moved\deleted a thing .......

Deleted VDJ 7 now and just leaving 8 on my main PC for further testing :-(

I reckon it's related to one being on C: and one on D:

I've been using 8 and 7 alongside each other on two different PCs (installed to C:) and both are fine.

I do have a laptop with two drives that I could experiment with......

But that *shouldn't* make any difference if both versions CAN co-exist on the same PC, or should it :-(

My C: Drive is a 60GB SSD ....... D: is 1TB (partitioned into 4)
