as i am reading thrue this form and personal for me.
Please make the release Version of VDJ 8 to use its own Folder under users (just call him Virtual DJ 8)
that will solve many of the problems we have with plugins etc.
the secound advantage will be that we not running in compatibilty issuse with oure custom mappers and devices because each vdj.exe relays on an seperate folder strukur.
(at the moment i have to move my devices (V7) to a seperate folder and when i go back to 7 i have to move the 8once)

For now a seperate folder for plugins is a good idea and I think that will come in near future.
But I don't think they will rename the VirtualDJ folder. Because once v8 is released it will most likely replace v7 and install itself into the same location.

Yes, but with the next major release you will have the same issues like now. With the version number in the folder names you have a closed structure without any clashes. Parallel installations will be much easier to handle and so on. The list of advantages is long.

Problem is that you could not switchback easily to ver 7 (mappers and plugins)
for migration it would be better just to copy vdj 7 folder to new v8 and than do migration
