Ok, just installed on my gig rig laptop. And I am sure we all *strongly dislike* their touchpads. Evil, I tell ya. Now it looks like a mouse will be in my tool kit since we all know how temperamental touch pads are on laptops.

Went from using a rack mount w/ 22" LCD HD display (real mouse & keyboard) unit to a more lightweight 17" laptop.

Perhaps others can chime in on their thoughts/ideas. :)

Oh, it works just dandy. But looks like I'll need to mouse around more w/ panels doing double duty. And using a touchpad more often is room for error.

Just some rules I go by if using a touchpad (not a touch screen)...
-I generally don't like to use "tap-to-click" If I'm not using a controller. The buttons do just fine.

-If I'm using some kinda external mouse, I prefer a nice big trackball like the Kensington Expert Mouse. It's a stationary trackball (not a hybrid) What's nice is you can park the cursor over a button and it won't drift.

- I disable all keyboard mapping, because I do a lot of Karaoke and type a lot and have gotten into trouble in the past.

Maybe it's just me, however use an external USB mouse! :-)

I'm thinking about adding a tracker ball to my controller, I hate touch pads being a lefty I catch it often when typing.
