Topic: VDJ 8 "kills" the sound of other apps (windows 7)

Hi,

when VDJ 8 is running, the sound of other players (Windows Media Player, VLC, Flash player...) doesn't go out from my speaker.

I noticed it goes out from the "Digital Audio" output, whereas the sound of VDJ 8 goes out from my speakers.

And when I close VDJ 8, things go back to normal.

Windows 7 64bits, ask me if you need more details

search options for "wasapi" and set "wasapisharedmode" to "yes"

PS: Read the setting's description to understand why this is so...

I have the same issue, when i go to option to change the setting to yes the drop down box closes before i get a chance to make the change. really the option window stays open for a few seconds and closes before I can make the change. Is there any other way of changing that setting?

Use one of the custom buttons on the skin with this function:

setting 'wasapiSharedMode' on

Would like to solve the issue as to why the Config window keeps closing. Does it only happen when you are in Options - or when you are in Audio or controllers also?

If you click on it and turns blue, then you can also use your mouse scroll wheel or your keyboard arrows to change the setting

It happens in the options screen. I will try what you have suggested, thanks.

I experienced something like that on my laptop running Windows XP. The config window seemed to refresh/reset constantly.

Here is what I have been doing from the very start,
1) Click settings
2) Click Options
3) Click audio
4) Click Wasapisharedmode
5) Slide mouse pointer over to drop down box
6) Drop down box closes before I can complete the process

The 2-3 times that I was able to click yes out of at least 120 tries, it never changed the setting to yes.

What OS?

Did the code for the custom button work??

If do you have a mouse wheel or scroll pad. Hover the mouse over the drop down and scroll down to change to yes.

However the dropbox should be now highlighted.
Press you keyboard up/down arrows to set it to yes

Sorry for the delay, forgot about it being mothers day, had to call mom and take fiance out to dinner. This is what happens when I try to make changes in the settings, it closes before I can go on to the next step, let alone highlight the option that I would like.

@cms30gg
I have seen this issue just very recently and have an idea how to reproduce in my system, but i need more info before reporting it to the dev team.

Could you please take a screenshot of your sound setup showing the sample rates / bit depth of the soundcard(s)
(expand if needed so the details are visible)

Here is a question that I have been unable to find an answer for. If I set up my main performance computer and get all the settings exactly as I want them to be, is there a file or index that I can copy to my backup laptop that will replicate my setup?

Thank you

My guess would be settings.xml
