On a Mac?
Locate the correct itunes library xml file on youe external drive.
Rightclick on it and select 'get_info'
3rd line down in general is 'Where'
Copy that line and replace /Users/Jools/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml
Leave the last bit
