Topic: Windows 8 and vob video files

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a Samsung Windows 8 with an Intel HD graphics 4000 video card, intel core i5 2.5ghz with 6 gigs of ram. I am having a problem when playing video files in vob format. The video is lagging behind the audio and is slowed down (kind of like a slow motion effect). The problem does not exist with videos in mp4 format. This is not a problem with my windows 7 machine. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I would also look into the CODECS. Try a different one and see if it makes a difference.

As if it only affected VOB files wasn't enough, I turned off hardware accelarator and the vob files play fine, but won't play on my projector or video monitor. Turn on the hardware accelarator and the vob files won't play correctly, but mp4 files play on the projector and video monitor. Any ideas at this point?

You should also try the k-lite codec pack.

Thank you for all the help, it looks like the codec was wreaking havoc. All looks normal again. Many thanks.

K-lite mega pack codecs is good pack but not good in this problem with win8 and i3,i5,i7 procesor.
iProcesor have decoder. but win8 without mediacenter not have support for dvd (dont player)

My solution changes decoder only for VOB
