Topic: Waveform display has low refresh rate

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

The waveform display on my Macbook Pro has much lower refresh rate (FPS) than on my PC, despite my Mac being much faster and more powerful than my PC. Scratching and adjusting the track is very difficult when the waveform can barely keep up with the song.

Why is this? How can I improve this on my Mac?

Thanks.

How much ram? I have 4gb on my macbook and it hardly runs efficiently with waveform display active. Upgrading to mountain lion improved my computers speed a bit, but my guess would be the ram.

I've got 8GB RAM and Mountain Lion OSX.

Could be the GPU, although i've never had this problem whether colored waveforms on or off. I also have 4gb ram i7 osx MTL hybrid hdd.

This is not a question of RAM or CPU :-)
I only can advice you to check this.

Thanks. I checked that page out and followed the suggestions there, but it didn't help.

The problem just seems to be that the Mac OS version of Virtual DJ hasn't been optimized for a Mac environment. Which is a little worrying, as I wonder what other things have been neglected...?

I hope it improves with v8.
