It's simply a pop-up message that can be optionally added to older definition files to prompt the user to update the firmware on their device.
I.e: The old and new definitions are matched by the version info in the SysEx ID of the controller.
This won't work for all devices because many definitions are designed to work universally with all firmware versions of that device. Users should always check the manufacturer's website to ensure that they have the latest firmware loaded.

awesome, is there going to be any information released on how to use this new function in our definitions or will we just have to work it out with trial and error?
