Hi.
i use vdj 7.0.5 le with my american audio vms4 on my macbook
2,16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Intel GMA 950 64 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
500 gb 5400rpm hd. 300 gb used.

i have that issue that, when i use the search funktion in vdj the sound is like stuttering. i can also se the "wheel" on each deck is jumping.
it is when i type in the first two carakteres in the search field.
i tryed download the 7.3 home edition, with same result.
anybode have an idea what i wrong?
the cpu bar is about 30 % and the cpu temp is about 55-60 degrees celcius.
my lion is about 1 year old. maybe a litlle more.

i have tried on a compaq pressario cq56 also with the 7.3 home edition, and the is no problem.

i have the same problem on my 2007 MBP with a 2.2 core 2 duo. Tried 2 different mixers, from snow leopard all the way to mountain lion the problem still was there. Mine does it most when using an internet browser. But on my new 2011 MBP with mountain lion it will not do it. Ive searched left and right and did the whole FAQ and my problem is still there.

now i purchased the pro version 7.4.
the macbook is the same.
i read and followed the faq.
my lion installation is brand new.
the only difference is now i use 2 pcs dns1200 from denon and the hard drive is 160 gb. only with lion and vdj installed. only use this drive for vdj.

all my music is on an external hard drive. the denons are connected to my mac thru a usb hub with external psu..

the problem is still there as far as i can tell. but not so mooch as before.

any ideas what is wrong?

Have you read my last post? :-)
ive done all from the faq list, and now i am using 2 denon dns 1200 instead of vms.
that is the reason ive gone from le to pro. :-)
i am not very happy about this.

It is possible your combination with the USB hub using soundcard and external harddrive is the problem/bottleneck
You can easy test it!

Try it first with only local harddrive located tracks (no external HD, no Denons, no USB Hub)
OK?

Connect just the denons and use it only with the local harddrive located tracks (no external HD)
OK?

BTW:Your first post was related with VMS and so we have this one also in our mind. ;-)

i have done that test.
same problem.
i did the same test with my my wifes compaq pc. no problem.
maybe its just my that is to old. but it has higher specs than the compaq.
i am now using finder to search my music, but then i cant use the web search.

now i think i found the issue.
temperature...
i noticed when i was paying at hove, my mac just stood on the table, the temp was running about 77-82 degrees celcius, and music was stuttering
the i put smc fan control on max rpm, and raised the mac about 2 centimeters so there was free air all under the mac. then the temp was about 65 degrees and no stuttering. then i played a gig at 3 hours with raised mac and smc on max rpm. no stuttering.
so i think the issue was the high temp.
