I'm not on board... I don't really like the raised rounded aerodynamic shape, call me old school but I like solid square objects, and those black and white jogs are yuck... looks like nice features though..

Looks nice starter controller......Now I wonder if its going to come in a 4ch version? I might get one if it did..

It is a 4 deck controller......it has the A/C B/D buttons on it. I also saw a headphone jack upfront so its got a built-in soundcard. Pause is a wonderful thing, lol!!

Well their current controllers don't appeal to me at all in the slightest, but this looks a bit more mainstream.

They'll have to get the price point right though, because the MC-6000 is very good and Pioneer usually price their gear way over. The plastic shell looks pretty poor too, considering the Denon is all metal. Hmmmmm

I agree.

It looks like a lifestyle product to me, the sort of thing you'd take on holiday if you just needed that quick mixing fix.

I'm not feeling it.

Looks like a cheap after market controller, very weird styling!

looks like in the desing vestax vci-100/300 + mixtrack pro personally!!

Mmmm,

Interesting looks, wonder about the build quality and price, and of course.. the bundled software.

Its an interesting movement that you now see the big brands getting into the 'starter' controllers. The Tractor S2, This new controller. This way products like tractor and itch might become more competitive in the 'starter dj market'. Thats gonna a challenge for Atomix competition wise.

Pioneer, is you are reading this, send me one, its nice for the living room :P

The funny thing is entry level controllers are usually really popular around here, but clearly the Pioneer price tag is already putting people off although no price has been announced. If Pioneer price this correctly I think we'll see some different opinions.

The reality is that most DJ's want to carry the Pioneer badge (at any level), so if this controller means more people can afford to carry that badge it'll probably be a winner...that's assuming it's any good.

I agree with that statement. Also on the tilt design, almost every picture I've seen of club djs using Pioneer cdjs, there always slanted on stands. I know with my MixMeister & Mixtrack controllers I find myself propping them up in the back so I dont think its that bad of an idea really. Now if your a scratch DJ it might cause a problem but for just mixing its comfortable.

For scratch DJ's you don't want to consider anything less than vinyl imo. Controllers that allow for it are a bonus for basic moves etc.

The elevation is a good idea but it should be adjustable from regular tabletop (flat) all the way up to a steep incline, basic adjustability here would make the difference for some people, maybe something to consider if they plan on releasing a MK2 or more professional edition (don't say DDJ as that's not nearly as portable for already cluttered DJ booths).

Seriously, for every controller that gets released without my prior inspection is a controller well wasted, I've been in the controller market since day 1 and see shortfalls that could have been avoided with a better design concept rather than simply increased production costs.

We're talking about simple flaws here not rocket science - it often feels like the product designers aren't DJ's and the right DJ's haven't been consulted with before these things hit mass production.

Whatever you think about Pioneer, the CDJ-1000 and above range are such well designed units they deserve their status as industry standard units.

I have a Stealth and a 4MX set up at all times. Under both of them are laptop cooling stands. No fans, just angle stands. I find them easier to use at a slight angle. So, the concept is not without merit. I agree with Bren, options of more or less angle would be nice.

I'll wait and see about this unit before I pass judgement. Simply because I abhor judgmental thinking. This unit can either be good, or a flop. Time will tell....

I can already hear the howls and rants of "Real DJ's" that Pioneer placed a SYNC button on this device.

But what do I know?

Yeah, and those same people rub sticks together to start a fire and ride a horse to get to work.

Things move on and technological advances should be encouraged.
