Ok.....so there i was.....new computer.....Windows 7 ultimate, intel i-5 proc, 4gb ram.....and virtual dj 7....and a gigaport ag. Well....since my laptop was running virtual dj 7 fine with Windows Vista and a AMD Turion with 3gb Ram and a gigaport....i figured i'd be ok. Not so! I got to my gig really early, and set up my main computer. I configured it just like the laptop. (none/3 lines mixer/gigaport left 1/2, right 3/4, samples and preview 5/6). The songs would load, but the player wouldn't work. It just froze there. It would play using the primary sound driver....but at a gig.....no help. Ended up using my laptop.
Fast forward to today. I read the forum, and folks have been having occasional issues with windows 7......SO....i put Vista on my main computer and started over. Same issue. I then went the whole "asio" route. Installed/Uninstalled.... Failure! I was at my wits end....until........
I tried something really simple. I plugged the gigaport ag into a different usb port. Voila! Everything worked as it should. No asio, no nothing....just the original config i mentioned earlier. It turns out that in some cases.....your usb port may be the culprit if the port driver hasn't been updated (my computer is a custom build). If this problem happens to you.....try a different port, or check your ports to see if they have the current drivers.
Just a thought from a guy who has survived the gigaport ag problem........

I didn't knew that Gigaport AG work'd with Windows 7. I have Gigaport AG (somewhere) but I could'n use it with W7 (only 2 channels workd), so I bought a new soundcard. Maybe there's been changes with drivers.
