I've recently purchased a used laptop running windows7 (older lappy has XP Pro SP3)... VDJ runs great, Mixtrack Pro installed with no issues.
But... VDJ doesn't see the database on my external harddrive, when I go to the config to repair the external drive letter is not even an option.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated,
T

can you see a DRIVE letter in "My Computer" ?
It seems like the PC has not see/confgured you external HD.
Try another USB port if thats how you have it connected.

the drive is recognized, I can browse to and play my mp3s and vobs but no bpm's or cues. I can see my history and pull tracks from a specific date, so the drive letter is correct. VDJ just doesn't see the database on that drive, and it does not attempt to create a new one.
I'm certain it's an easy fix but this one has me stumped.

This two thing I don't understand.
"when I go to the config to repair the external drive letter is not even an option"
it means you can't see the drive letter
"the drive is recognized, I can browse to and play my mp3s and vobs but no bpm's or cues. I can see my history and pull tracks from a specific date, so the drive letter is correct."
but you can see the drive when you navigate using VDJ window

"VDJ just doesn't see the database on that drive"
is there a VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml on the root of the external drive ?
"I'm certain it's an easy fix but this one has me stumped"
it seems to me also.
Wonder if is a security/ownership issue from where it came from first.

I am having the same issue. Windows 7, 64-bit. Unfortunately, because I am semi-computer illiterate, I need some help here. When I hook up my external hard drive, it does not recognize all my songs. I can type them in search and nothing. However, if I go to the individual folder where it is, I can open it that way.
How do I check the "rights" on my external hard drive? This is so frustrating. I am trying so hard to go from mixing cds to strictly playing off my laptop and gemini. Help?
Thanks, one and all.

You will need to add the music to your VirtualDJ database for it to appear when searching.
To do this, use the VirtualDJ browser to browse to the drive(s) and/or folder(s) where the music is located, right-click on the folder and choose Add to search DB.
