Topic: Plugin Delay Compensation Support

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So that VDJ can automatically syncronise tracks which are out of sync due to delay caused by plugins, such as eq/effects plugins.

You can adjust the audio delay by adjusting the latency in CONFIG -> Performances (Non-ASIO card or Apple Mac) or CONFIG -> Sound Setup -> ASIO Config (ASIO card on PC.)

But how can that help solve the problem of delays caused by plugins on one channel etc? When a CPU intensive plugin is used on one channel and not the other it gives the channel a delay and puts it out of sync when you listen to it.

Also, the delay changes as you change whatever the plugin is doing. So for example, if its a notch ew filter, and you change from say 4 notches / bands to 6, then the delay increases. THere needs to be some one that VDJ knows the delay and can compensate. Im not really sure how it works exactly, but I believe it called latency reporting. THe plugin reports the latency to the host app, which then compensates. Apparently, Ableton supports this.
