Topic: Wrong default directory suggested when updating VDJ

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,

When installing VDJ (on 2K or XP computers) over an old version (update) the default directory suggested by the wise
installer is "C:\Program Files\VIRTUA~2" instead of
"C:\Program Files\VirtualDJ". You have to change it manually
if you want to install in the right place.

I got the same problem

just hit OK... it's still installing to the proper directory.

At least it does for me.

It doesn't for me. It really create a new directory
called C:Program FilesVIRTUA~2.

It doesn't for me too.
I found a way to fix this issue.
Run regedit
Delete the folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- SOFTWARE
- - VirtualDJ
And reinstall VDJ

Not corrected in V1.0.6 for me.

Just delete all virtual dj entries in the registry and then try install again..

DJ Dark Storm,

Yes, there are several solutions to by-pass this problem.
The easiest is to type the right path in the installation
window ;-)

But the aim of this topic is just to report this little bug.
