Looking for some assistance in the proper settings for playing the NS7 with VDJ Pro on a MBP.
I have gone into my VDJ "config" --> Sound Setup -->
- Inputs = None
- Outputs = Single Output
Sound card = Numark USB Audio Device
Issues I'm having...
For one, when I make these changes, they don't seem to stay after shutting down VDJ and restarting. I have to go back in and make these changes.
When I initially start pushing and pulling the platter to scratch the track, it's not immediately responsive. I have to push and pull a bit and it finally catches, then I'm good to go with the rest of the track.
My headphones do not work on the NS7. I can't hear anything coming through the headphones jack.
Sometimes, the track will slow down and speed up. After shutting down and restarting VDJ a couple of times and setting up the settings again, it will be fine. I know I may have to fine tune the Jog Sensitivity, Job Sensitivity (Cue) and Jog Sensitivity (Bend)...but I haven't quite got it under wraps.
I know that the NS7 wasn't specifically designed with Virtual DJ software in mind....but I know some of you out there have had success with it all working together.
Thank you.

Still got me baffled. Ran ITCH as well in the background while in Setup and played my tracks using VDJ, but I still couldn't use my headphones.

1) As far as the sound card setup goes, this is what I use:
Advanced Config
Master Numark USB Audio Device Output 1&2
Headphones Numark USB Audio Device Output 3&4
Microphone Numark USB Audio Device Input 1&2
The headphone cue slider on the NS7 doesn't always register right away. If it doesn't, switch the headphone mode on the NS7 from Ch1-Ch2 to Master and then back. This should reset it.
If that doesn't work, when you switch the headphone mode on the NS7 from Ch1-Ch2 to Master, move the headphone slider back and forth, and then switch the headphone mode on the NS7 back to Ch1-Ch2.
Also, make sure in settings/options you have Headphones set to "disabled". By Default, it is set to Auto.
2) As far as VDJ not remembering your changes, make sure you have the NS7 plugged into the computer USB and turned on before launching the VDJ 7 software. If it does not register the NS7 when loading, VD defaults to the settings for internal mode.
3) The NS7 settings for platter sensitivity may be the cause of your scratching/slowing down and speeding up issues. You'll find that small adjustments have a large impact on the feel and control of the platters. Take some time to adjust this and you should have no more problems. Other settings may need to be adjusted for latency, platter speed, etc. I don't know if you usine the pitch sliders or sync function, but that would certainly effect things.
Also, the vinyl on the platters themselves can be adjusted for a loose or tighter feel using the small "L" wrench tool that came the NS7. Loosen the screws and raise the vinyl slightly up or slightly down, and then retighten the screw. This has more to do with the feel.
One last thing... try turning the motor off and then back on.

Bostroff, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I'll make the changes recommended and will post back an update.
My main rig is a pair of CDJ-800s and a Rane TTM 57SL with Serato Scratch Live and VSL, but I really like the versatility of VDJ Pro. For my mobile events VDJ is great....I'm just not fully ready to go with it as it's hard to pull me off the CDJs and 57SL.
Thanks again.

Your instructions were good to go!
Only left issues to contend with is....after shutting down VDJ and restarting it, with the NS7 turned on prior, I still have to go into my Config and hit apply or OK. The settings are saved...but I have to do this or my tracks will not play. Other issue...sometimes when I start playing my tracks, the track will slow down and speed up....I have to shut down VDJ and restart it...and then the track plays as it should.
The mic and phones work now. ;-)
