i tried using headphones, then the sampler would play there. .. weird..
i'm using 'american audio - vms4' in 8 ch mode
ch1,2 - preview player [no specific ch set] plays preview AND sampler.
ch3,4 - deck left [works]
ch5,6 - deck right [works]
ch7,8 - sampler [works]

I think that samples play by default on the headphones for "preview" purposes despite the fact that you can send them on a separate channel on your mixer. Maybe this should be changed with the new "Advanced Config"

if the team thinks that samples should go to 'headphones' by default, then let it be. my concern is having a separate output channel for 'preview player' the one at the bottom of the screen.

Have a quick look around before creating a post requesting a new wish or feature. This one for example isn't even off the first forum page yet and has discussion on the subject, including how to configure which channel (even a dedicated channel) prelisten should use.
