Topic: [HOT NEWS] HERCULES DJ CONSOLE 4-MX - Page: 3

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Not exactly... (Have you ever opened a CDJ?) Anyway, I'll leave it to that...

hmm.........i think along with me......alot of ppl want to see a controller come out that u can say.......THATS IT...........i was hoping like everyone for hercules to do it.................dont know yet...................just need a controller that looks sexy...can scratch exact......and does not look like a toy.......thats it......and very well lit..............................love lighting on a controller..........i have faith it can be done.....i have the money....just waiting to see who will do it.....until then ....rmx......we will keep walking together.

I'm disappointed, I thought it would be a lot better than this.

Still looks a little toyish but I can live with it.
Wish they could have made it just a bit bigger to make a little more room.
I don't think I'll mind controlling 4 virtual decks with 2 physical decks, looks like Hercules has provided all the knobs and buttons needed.

I'm sure some of the fine folks at Atomix have had their hands on this console. Would like to hear about the feel; button/knob response, sliders, jog wheel feel and response, working space? I don't expect this to feel like a Pioneer or Denon unit just so long as things are smooth and responsive. And the output quality of the soundcard?

Very cool, love my RMX, this looks like my next upgrade. Thanks for the info. :)

I think we all should wait till some users "touch it" on BPM this weekend.

For me like i said before it's pretty nice, not sure the price is nice also!

@Made In Breizh

Thanks for giving that explanation about the controls in deck and volumes, even so if i buy it i will definitely will use to 2 decks only.

It's kind of confusing the deck change and that question about volumes in control of each deck...
The point whith that doubt is that many others like me wish an intuitive and smart midi controller, and the issue about having the need to be always updating the controls (eq. and volumes) during a live set is kind of a point down.

As a 2 deck controler this one suits for me, as a 4 deck honestly i don't think it suits me...
One of the major reason so i may choose this unit 4-MX is cause it would probably be more "CLUB USABLE" than the VMS4 due to several poor sound issues.

In my oppinion if the sound card is equal to the actual RMX it would be much better than the VMS4...Concerning that controller from ADJ i quote someone in another dj forum "the vms4 is a unit with Ferrari look but the engine of a 1.0 Fiat" i guess it explains a lot.

"the vms4 is a unit with Ferrari look but the engine of a 1.0 Fiat" I had to lol at that.

Well I was wanting this RMX controler to have more bells and whistles than it does. I'm sure it will be great for a lot of DJs, but not this one.

It looks like I am going to have to go the DN-MC6000 route. Hopefully they will have it at next weeks show so some people can get a feel for it.
I would love to see it here soon

All units will be displayed at bpm hopefully our uk friends don't forget their cameras.

i misunderstood ......

it was positive negativism

i feel strongly that once it's tried out under real working conditions , it will be less than , equal to ,

or greater than expected

so the only way it is different from the rmx is that it can control 4 decks on the new vdj 7 coming out? and cosmetic differences?

I believe the touch sensors are a first on any Hercules product

3. 1mm traveling jog wheel (weight detection) Excuse me? If you wanna "scratch" you must keep the jogs pressed down! Yeap, that's right. If you accidentally loose some pressure on your hand while scratching the scratch sensor goes off... Yes, VDJ is smart enough to handle this but from a hardware point of view it's not the smartest implementation possible...

This is exactly how CDJ's work which have been in the industry for years, so must people are use to this logic...

1 thing for sure pioneer cdjs doesn't having that kind of travel distance. Had opened 800s and 1000s and should be 0.3-0.5mm only with pressure switches allover the place.

Someone please explain what the difference in "travel" between the Hercules controller and CDJs will mean to the user.
I'm sure the Hercules controller is less sensitive and precise than the high-end Pioneer gear, but how much so?
Will the Hercules jog wheels be so sloppy that they are unusable?

its pure speculation at this point.

Wow this is interesting and I thought about selling my RMX for the Numark Mixtrack since it has touch sensitive job wheels (ya scratching like DNS-1000's!). Its only $150US as well, but this?

I have been too broke to upgrade to VDJ6 full version, so maybe having VD7LE will make up for that. Not sure what the trade-in value is of a RMX now that the new model is coming out, but its worth checking into.

For those that use 4 decks/turntables I can understand the complaints somewhat, but that's not my thing, not worried about it.

I love my RMX I just wanted touch sensitive jog wheels.

What's the US Retail Price?

@djfourmoney

By the currency of todays market it will be around US$616, but let me tell you when i bought my RMX unit it was 350 € at the time and i paid US$350 (The same as euros).

Don't know if it will happens again...Have to wait till late November...

----------------------------------

I can't wait to see if someone is posting some video or more pics and opinions after seeing the new console @ BPM...
Don't forget our forum guys...share your experiences at BPM! :)

Waiting on news from the BPM show....

Meanwhile the marketing from stores and brands it's hard...and agressive...
The 4-MX only ships in November at the announced price of 449€ and we already see online this kind of situation:

"Instead of boarding the Hercules market focus with MX-4 MIDI controller to the professional DJ. But still for a price Hercules, Bax-shop.nl, the MX-4 for € 399, -!" - (Translation to english.)

Price: € 399.00 (incl. 19% VAT) (From) price: € 459

Now if AA and Hercules could work together to come up with the VMS4-MX I'd be in heaven. What I'd expect though:

Mains powered unit (and none of the 5v crap either...)
Full midilog support on all channels
The layout and responsiveness of the VMS4
The sound engine of the Hercules
Mixer components (pre-amps, EQ's, mic support etc) from the AA pro range
Hercules jog wheels (not the conductive VMS4 one's too prone to static and cause all sorts of issues)

Between them I think they could own this product space...

Will report back after BPM ;-)

I haven't found a single pic or video from the 4-MX from BPM, no opinions, reviews, etx...

Seems like the guys are jumping on the Traktor Control S4 and Denon Dn-Mc6000 All over....lolllllllll

Other nice "toys" from reploop, Numark and Vestax so i "heard", but for the price range of 4-MX and VMS4 there weren't many options.

That is considered a "bedroom dj" scale...yet the one that gives more profit to the brand, but there are some that doesn't want to low to that class of market so they don't take the risk of going down on their status.
A friend told me he saw a 4-MX @ ATOMIX stand...true?

Anyone with an oppinion yet?

I'm realy kind of confused...some proposals cane out today and the mobile dj is starting to happen. On a medium club scenario the rmx it's kind of unsuficient, so i need to update my controller soon.
Like i sayd before i use 2 decks so a 2 deck controller will be good to me, already put the hands on vms4 liked it but when it comes to sound quality my rmx beats it in milles away...
So my question is it worth waiting on the 4-mx?
It's on my budget and in specs and design suits for me. But is the sound more powerfull compared to the rmx and vms4?
Is it more club using than the other 2?

Well this is my dilema... to wait if not for the 4-mx!

In the future after a nice cash flow then i may aspire to the denon dn-mc6000, but for now the budget is this and the need for a better sound qualigy than rmx.

Any Atomix staff who use it @ bpm could give me a light here?
How is to work with the 4-mx?

Is it worth waiting?
