It was with 6.1.2 using the NS7

did you record straight in to vegas or did you edit it all after the fact?

I haven't gotten into video mixing yet, so truthfully I know nothing about it, but just trying to understand that was mixed live or was it edited after the fact? I mean the mashup's are pre done right? including the audio and video? I would love to see you work at the console to see whats happening and what portions of it are live.
 
Wow, sampling the A-team theme was out of this world. Didn't think of that one. Very nice start and strong ending.

Well honestly, all of the sets were video taped, but on day 2 we had an audio problem with the camera that cost us dearly.
Totally my fault for not using headphones during the sessions and much of it was filmed with the camera on an outstretched overhead hand.
There is still no explanation for this loss, as the manual settings did not change throughout the week as auto levels were just pegging the sound full and distorting.
My apologies to Larry for this, but his set is best seen in this format.

The problem is that we can film the dj working the gear, the crowd out in front or the monitors which were overhead, but not all three because of the sweeping without multiple cameras and some serious editing to make it sync seamlessly and even then the audio was so nasty with room noise that it doesn't do the capture justice as you see here.

These sets are clips that are mixed on the fly btw.
Yes some of the segments are created, but the mixing of it is live.

Thanks for all the props!

This mix was mixed live. The mashups are live, not premixed and played. I pre-edited all of the parts down into short acapella intro and/or outro clips in Sony Vegas. Then I practiced mixing it over and over a million times. I mixed it with the Numark NS7. The only thing I would change is maybe using some VDJ video effects and transitions. I will try to find the time to re-record this mix with a live cam pointed at the NS7 (Like I did last year) and re-post it with picture-in-picture. A big THANK YOU goes out to the VDJ Team for letting me do my thing at the DJ Expo again this year! I hope we can get together in Feb 2011 for the Mobile Beat DJ Expo in Vegas.
