Topic: Recovering/Saving/Exporting Virtual Folders

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I know where VDJ stores the Playlist and History files on my hard drive, but I can't find any place where the Virtual folders data is kept. I use scores of Virtual folders whicih took me many hours to create. Is there a way to save/export/recover them if I needed to reload VDJ for some reason? I would not want to duplicate this effort again!

Simply back up your VDJ databases - the XML file, as all Virtual, Favorite and Filter folders are stored in there.

Remember there is one database per drive that contains music. For any drive other than your system drive the file will be in the root. For your system drive, the file will be in the VirtualDJ folder under documents.

Also, if the folder only contains songs from a particular drive, it will only be in the XML file on that drive. So you need to remember to back them all up.
