I would like to see the ability to drag and drop a playlist from the browser onto a deck and have it automatically be in standby mode ready to play. Not a vital feature addition but it would be neat.

You already have this feature using "Autoplay List" that can be used to Hold All types of media files and trigger manually or Automatically to play at will, check the manual for details.
Would be even Better to have One "Autoplay List" for Each Deck.

What I was getting at was being able to drag the playlist right onto the deck and have it load the first track and the next track (i.e. eliminating the need to click 'automix').

Ok, then just drag the first track to either deck, start the track, then drag the rest of the track list into "AutoMix" and hit "Ctrl SpaceBar" to trigger autoload from "Auto PlayList" and this will load and Play all tracks on That List Automatically to that Deck.
It's just another way you can accomplish the same thing as you describe..
