Sorry to re open an old link but i've been haing this problem too. my last laptop running xp was perfect but i have recently replaced it with an HP i3 running windows7 and now have this same problem.
Forgive me but i copied your check list and have added my own notes i the hope you can help me as im using the LE version ov the software that came with my RMX.
so here goes.

* Performance settings in VirtualDJ set too high for your computer to handle. Go to CONFIG -> Performances and move the performance slider towards the left. -CANT DO THIS WITH THE LE VERSION AS ITS NOT GIVEN AS AN OPTON.

* Computer that is not powerful enough or does not have sufficient memory (RAM) - The recommended requirements can be found on the following page (Ideally your computer should exceed these): http://www.virtualdj.com/products/virtualdj/index.html -I3 PROCESSOR NOT POWERFULL ENOUGH???

* Overheating - Check that the cooling fans are still operational and they are not being blocked. Some computers may slow down the CPU when it starts to overheat, reducing performance considerably. -CHECKED

* Out-of-date versions of the software. Please ensure that you have the latest version installed from the Download Center http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html or the latest trial http://www.virtualdj.com/download/trial.html -DONE

* ASIO buffer set too low - If you are using an ASIO sound card, please check that OPTIONS -> Performances -> Latency is set to Auto and try increasing the ASIO buffer size under CONFIG -> Sound Setup -> ASIO Config (You will need to restart VirtualDJ between each change for it to take effect.) Repeat until you find the optimal setting for your computer. -NOT GIVEN THIS OPTION WITH LE VERSION

* Wireless networking (Try turning this off or disabling it.) -DONE

* Viruses and spyware present on your system - Please ensure that your anti-virus software is fully up-to-date and perform a full scan of your system. If viruses are found, then after removing them reboot your computer and perform another full scan. Repeat until no further viruses are found. -CHECKED

* Unnecessary software running in the background. Manufacturers often install unnecessary 'bloatware' applications on computers that can cause performance issues. -CHECKED

* Anti-virus software can have an adverse effect on slower computers. If you are not connected to the Internet, turn this off temporarily while using VirtualDJ. - DONE

* Laptop optimised for battery life or power saving rather than performance - Go to the Windows Control Panel -> Power Settings and make sure that your computer is set for maximum performance. -DONE

* The skin (User interface) has been resized or maximised. On some systems, this can cause increased CPU usage depending on the capabilities of the graphics card. -LE VERSION BASIC SKIN ONLY.

* UAC (User Account Control) in Vista/Windows 7 can cause problems and should be disabled. -WHAT IS THIS? CANT FIND ANY REFERENCE TO THIS ON LAPTOP.

The DPC Latency checker can be used to check for performance issues with your computer: http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml -NOT DONE THIS

Please see the following guide for further optimisations that you can make (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader): http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00364.pdf -DONE THIS.

So... any other suggestions based on what i've done and not done (because ov LE limitations)

sorry to ramble on.

Thanx babes.

Let me correct one step:

* ASIO buffer set too low:

The ASIO buffer size needs to be configured in the Hercules DJ Control Panel with Virtual DJ closed.

Switch to ASIO audio mode, and in the ASIO tab, the default buffer size is set to 480 (10 ms) by default, which is a good starting point for most system.

Lower or raise the ASIO BUFFER SIZE one step at a time, then launch and use VDJ for a while, and pay attention if the glitch problem is still noticeable. If so, change the buffer size again, and repeat (if needed) until you find the best configuration for your system.
