Topic: The Ultimate Ghetto Style Projection Set-up!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

We sold the old Big Box style rear projection tv to make room for the new 50 inch plasma, but in the meantime I brought in my projector to set-up for the two nights we do music vids. Obviously wanted to do it on the cheap as it was only for two nights.

Nine sheets of poster board from the Dollar Store:

Projector hung by 22 guage speaker wire on a plastic shoe rack belted on with my belt lol:

We were pleasantly shocked by the quality on the posterboard. Was going to use a sheet or shower curtain at first, but they have too many wrinkles & fold lines that would have interfered with the picture.

MacGyver would have been proud!

Nope, didn't you know that all Canadian handymen were taught by Red Green? We always have enough Duct Tape to finish the job.

Take note bedroom djs the glamorous life of a club dj.

Fine example of redneck engineering.

so how much did that cost you then... just thought i'd ask before Jimmy or Staffy does....

I didn't notice the small budget "Light Man" the first time I looked.

Before or after taxes? LM(_!_)O!

I could use someone like that to lug my gear around Renee lol

Rob I hope you now we are laughing with you. Believe me I've played places that make this look like the Queens Palace.

I've worked places where the light bars were actually shower curtain rods....probably made the bedroom DJ's feel more at home.

Get to use the "Red Green" special one more night tonight then the posterboards get their new life as Superbowl Squares! We must do our part & recycle!

I LOVE the belt! did you have to hold up your pants the whole night or did you remove your shoe strings and use them as your belt? man thats def some (insert any word here) riggin

The method is part of the madness lol

Reminds me of when i worked for the Ramee Group - an indian owned hotel chain in the middle east. Basically what you've pictured rob sums up there hotels/clubs and they see nothing wrong with it!!! there even proud of it.
