This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

I noticed there are a few slider controls in the options menu for the platter. Does anyone know the best settings for the Denon DN-HS5500's.

Scratch - 130-140%, CUE 100%, Bend 80-90%

Thanks cstoll.

I've tried the settings Cstoll recomended above, but I still get alot of cue slippage when scratching. I'm using 2 5500's. Both of them have the jog trans at 3ms. I'm using Windows XP. What else can I try?

Then continue to adjust the Scratch Sensitivity ... I just gave you a starting point ...

Should I go higher in percentage?

tight to loose = higher to lower = thick to fluid

higher means you have to work harder at moving the platter to move the track
lower means lesser movement of the platter to move the track

I hope that helps ... depends on the direction of 'slippage' ... if when bringing it back to the CUE point it doesn't quite get there all the time .. then I would say maybe move it lower - 110-120ish ... if it is goint past the cue point then maybe up the value - 140-150

Hi Cstoll,
When scratching and bringing the platter back, it goes past the point. I followed your instructions to raise the percentage up. I ended up at max on the slider in the options menu. The platter reacts the same. It feels to me that the slider isn't doing anything to change the feel of the platter.

Are you changing the slider and not closing the config before testing ?

I'm closing the config menu, them I reload the track and the feel on the platter is the same.

bump.

Still having issues with the platter in Virtual 6.0.2
My operating system is XP and I have My jog trans set to 3ms.
When I have both jogs in scratch mode so they both spin, while playing 2 songs, if I try to scratch one of them I get heavy drifting.

Rane SL3 is not currently compatible with VirtualDJ and other DJ software - It has no ASIO (PC) or Core Audio (Mac) drivers available, so will only work with Serato.

Rane SL1 is supported by VirtualDJ on Windows PC only (No Core Audio drivers for Mac.)

A good 4-in/4-out card for timecode use with VirtualDJ is the Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ (Or 8 DJ)

We're going off topic here. I have a very good sound card (RME Fireface 400). I'm not running the Denon 5500's in timecode. I'm using them in usb mode with Virtual. The problem is I've tried all the settings Cstoll recommended but I still get heavy drifting when scratching while both players are spinning. It's not as bad when scratching while the other player is not spinning.

Is anybody else using the Denon 5500's in midi mode with no problems?
If so, what are your settings?

I guess not.

John,

Are both decks on Layer 1 ? The right deck should be on Layer 2 .
