I've taken a look at the prices on this equipment and it seems pretty reasonable. I am just wondering if this would actually work with virtual dj though? I am pretty new at this and have been practicing on the computer a lot, but thought I needed some equipment too. Will this be a good starting point?
2 Stanton STR8-60 Turntables w/new cartridges
Behringer DX-05
The guy is asking 200 obo. What does everyone thinK?

is this going to work with virtual dj though? and if not, what do I have to look for in equipment so that it would work with my computer? thanks.

First you need to buy the software from here. You can also get the timecoded vinyl from that link too. The trail version does not let you use timecoded vinyl.
Then you need to get a sound card like the Maya 44, that lets you run you turn tables into the computer and then back out to your mixer.
Set it all up and you sould be good to go.
DJ Digital
Practice and Enjoy!!

The trial version do support timecodes but it is limited in a way. For full experience with it u need to use the pro version;)
Be aware that the trial give u almost complete function as the real deal for 20 days for new user to try out.
As for the set up.. it is ok for the stanton but i would recommend u to have a heavier n more torque direct drive TT. If u prefer stanton, take a look at the T80/ T90 or T120 etc. Importantly for timecode is the stylus used and how u set them up;)
Overall it is ok and as bujazism mentioned u need a soundcard for it too. 4 in 4 out (2 stereo in 2 stereo out).
Hope to see u with us soon as a pro user;)

thanks for the responses.
I am hoping to do this setup with my laptop that I currently own, is there a USB soundcard that I can use or will I need a new system with one of these soundcards already intergrated into my system?

to run timecodes you will need a "4 in 4 out" soundcard. a very popular choice the the Maya44 USB - search the forums for it - quite a few users have this soundcard.
personally at the moment i dont use timecode so i use the DJ|IO which does the trick for me anyway.
